Though salamanders typically prefer more tactile endeavors such as metal-shaping and have no particular affinity for magic as a group, there remain individuals willing to dedicate themselves to arcane pursuits. Such salamanders are known as evocators, and they seek out powerful beings on the Elemental Plane of Fire such as efreeti or visiting infernal archwizards from which they can learn. Despite most salamanders having no interest in studying the arcane themselves, warring tribes are happy to have evocators among their number for the benefits they provide in battle. Evocators take their name from their preference for destructive evocation magic, particularly spells that call forth the power of fire, earth, and lightning.
