Octogoblos represent the pinnacle of goblin tinkering. These goblins have been fitted with seven mechanical arms that are magically connected to their brains by specialised “control gems” that establish a mind link, allowing them to control each arm independently of one another just as they would their natural arms. Using each of these arms effectively in combat, however, requires extensive training for the octogoblins to build familiarity with their new limbs. Untrained octogoblins are just as likely to injure their allies as they are their enemies as their mechanical arms flail about indiscriminately. The goblins discovered that seven was the maximum number of additional arms that a goblin could effectively control with training. They are called “octogoblins” because of their general visual similarities to octopi, even though octogoblins only have seven arms.
